Vancouver Portland Knife Sharpening
Sharpening Prices
Pricing for Knives Etc
- Basic Knives are $9. for most knives. Three dollars each for extra blades on one pocket knife.
- Machetes are $10. and will be sharper than they were meant to be (be careful).
- Kukris, Axes and big old fat stuff will usually be $11. Mauls are $15
- Swords, when they can be sharpened can range from $50 -$120 (Seriously, some of these are really hard)
- Regular Scissors are $9.
- Garden tools such as Clippers, Loppers, and Hedge Trimmers (not electric) are $9 if they can be sharpened (some are riveted together and cannot be sharpened properly).
- Lawn Mower Blades are no fun, but I'll still do them. $10 for Regular, $12 for those big heavy ones. Price includes careful balancing.
- Knife blade repairs, such as deep chips and bent or broken tips can be $3 -$10 depending on the severity (some bent tips can be hammered back into shape, but higher quality blades will always snap off and need to be reshaped)
- I'm sorry, I don't do paper cutters, hair shears, electric hedge trimmers, or chainsaw blades.
Please don't wrap your knives in tea towels… I have a hard time keeping who belongs to which towel. Newspaper, paper bags, or just loose in the locker are all fine.
During spring and summer you can probably find me at the Vancouver Farmers Market by Esther Short Park on Sundays from 10-3.
Second Edge of a Double Sided Knife is an Extra $3.
Broken Tip Repair $3-$10 Depending on how bad it is.
Sharp and Happy and Ready to Go Home!
Regarding Scissors and Clippers... Some are made to be sharpened or repaired and some can not. The sharpest Scissors in the world will not cut well if they can't be tightened or adjusted. Sometimes I can fix these and sometimes I can't.
